- 70-75 percent of the Earths surface is covered with water.
- 97 percent of the Earths water is salt water in Oceans and Seas.
- More Fresh water is stored under ground in aquifers than on the Earths surface.
- The Earths surface is a closed system, meaning it rarely loses or gains extra matter. The same water that existed thousands of years ago is still present.

Lore of the Land
Don't plant in rows or squares.
Stagger your plantings in triangles. You'll grow at least 10 percent more in the same place.

Homestead Blessings!
I wanted to share with you a great resource that I have really enjoyed Homestead Blessings!
I first found out about them in my local library in the Gardening section. I found a DVD labeled gardening and thought I would check it out. The kids and I loved the gardening DVD and since have checked out many more from the library.
The southern hospitality of the West ladies will welcome you into there home encouraging ladies of all ages and teaches valuable skills that can be applied to many homemaking endeavors. Some of the DVD's are bread making, candle making, soap making, canning, gardening, herbs, cooking, dairy, and sewing.
